Einleitung

Use this guide to replace worn down mouse feet, also known as skates or glides, on your Logitech MX Anywhere 3.

While it’s possible to cleanly remove the feet, you may need replacements if one rips or separates from its adhesive pad.

Schritt 1

Flip the power switch into the OFF position before you begin any repairs.

Schritt 2

If you’re planning to reuse the feet note that the adhesive needs to be thoroughly heated for them to be cleanly removed.
Use an iOpener to heat the adhesive underneath the feet.
A hair dryer may also be used, but be careful not to overheat the mouse—the plastic body may warp or melt.

Schritt 3

Locate the gap in the rim around each foot. This is where to place the tool in the next step.

Schritt 4

Repeat the following procedure on all four feet:
Push the tip of an opening pick under the mouse foot adhesive where the gap in the rim is.
Go slowly, and make sure the pick is underneath both the foot and its adhesive layer. It's easy to separate the foot from its adhesive.
Twist the opening pick to separate the foot from the bottom until you can grab it.
Remove the foot.
Before installing your mouse feet, clean any residual adhesive with highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) and a lint-free or microfiber cloth.
To reuse the feet, softly tack them on a clean surface such as a magnetic mat or a sorting tray.

Abschluss

Compare your new replacement part to the original part—you may need to transfer remaining components or remove adhesive backings from the new part before installing.

To reassemble your device, follow the above steps in reverse order.

Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
