How did you know the ballast was the problem? When my tv is turned on the green light blinks continuously and sort of sounds like a jet engine but really quiet. It also was making an arc welder type sound (also very quiet) and emitting blue light from the ballast area so Im lead to believe this is the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a WD-57732 and I can tell you that to change my lamp ballast you have to pull out the whole lower carriage because the ballast is in a enclosed metal box and you cannot get to the back screw to get it off. Even when I did all of this and put in a replacement ballast that was used I still got a flashing green light with a solid red and the TV turns itself off in one minute. So $69.95 for a used ballast $159.00 for a new lamp and still no picture after 3 hours of work. Time for a new TV.
