Having a mountain bike is fun because you are able to ride your bike in any kind of terrain. But what happens when you get a flat tire? Before starting this guide, be sure to have a 8” Pittsburgh wrench and a new 24” inner tube. in order to complete the replacement of the tire on your 24” Mongoose mountain bike.

This guide will guide you step by step on how to replace a front flat tire on a 24” Mongoose mountain bike in 40 min or less. I recommend using some type of gloves when attempting this guide because some parts of the wheel can get your fingers pinched.

    • With the 8" Pittsburgh wrench remove the nuts that hold the wheel and the hub together. Turn the wrench counterclockwise to unscrew the nuts.

    • With your hands, remove the tire from the hub.

    • Before removing the tire from the rim. Unscrew the air nuzzle cap so that it can go through the rim hole.

    • To unscrew the nuzzle cap, turn the cap counterclockwise.

    • From the side where the air nuzzle is at, begin separating the tire from the rim by folding the tire so that you can pop it out of the rim.

    • Remove the damaged inner tube from the inside of the tire.

    • Insert the new 24"inner tube in the tire crease.

    • Make sure the new inner tube is sitting comfortably inside the tire.

    • Insert the air nuzzle through the rim hole and then attach the tire to the rim by folding the tire into the rim.

    • Grab the tire and place it on the hub of the bike.

    • With the 8" Pittsburgh wrench screw the nuts back into place.

    • Turn the screw clock wise to tighten the screw.

    • Make sure the screws are tight so that the tire does not fall out mid bike ride.
