This guide is for those looking to replace their brake lever assembly on a mountain bike. It is a fairly simple task that does not require much prior bike knowledge. It only requires a 5mm Allen key, the lever assembly, isopropyl alcohol, and the bike.

    • Remove the grip from the handle.

    • Do this by twisting and pulling the grip until it slides off.

    • Using a 5mm allen key, loosen the lever assembly from the handle.

    • Slide the assembly off of the handle.

    • Take the brake cable and feed it into the lever pull.

    • Feed the cable into the lever assembly slot and through the barrel adjuster.

    • Use the barrel adjuster to tighten the cable intro place.
