Einleitung

This guide will cover the removal and replacement of the internal battery situated within the Newport e500. In order to perform this operation, a screwdriver and torque wrench will be required. Make sure the battery terminals do not come into contact with any other metal object when handled. For more information refer to page 68 of the service manual.

    • Place device so that the top cover is facing you.

    • Open the top cover.

    • Remove the four hex nuts and lock washers (two at each hinge) that secure the cover to the hinges on the left side of the pneumatic box.

    • Remove the cover and set aside. Retain hardware for re-assembly.

    • Pull up and remove the flexible rubber exhalation outlet boot (push fit).

    • Disconnect the tubes from both sides of the flow sensor and the two tubes from the exhalation valve.

    • Pull the exhalation module straight up to remove it from the GDU.

    • Remove the two nuts that hold the battery cover to the electronics box assembly and remove the cover.

    • Disconnect the black and red wires from the battery terminals.
