The batteries in your camera only last a certain amount of time before they die and it is time to replace them. Once this happens, the camera will not be able to turn on until all four of the batteries are replaced. The batteries used in this camera are AA batteries.
-
-
Turn the camera so that the flash is facing downward- you are now looking at the bottom of the camera
-
If the camera lens its pointing towards you, there should be a small lever on the right hand side
-
Take this lever and push it away from your body, while simultaneously pulling upwards
-
-
-
Once you have pulled up, four batteries will appear underneith
-
Note how there are two batteries facing upwards (circled in red)
-
and two batteries facing downwards (circled in orange)
-
-
-
When all of the batteries have been removed you should see four places for four new batteries to be inserted
-
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Hi, I just replaced my Nikon Coolpix L340's batteries with new AAs and have followed all steps correctly but my camera is still saying 'battery exhausted' when I try turning it back on. Any ideas why it's not working?
Thank you!

The negative terminal must be raised like the Duracell Ultra. The Energizer MAX and other AAs have a FLAT negative terminal. The manual warns against them.
No lever, only recessed button
