The motherboard is a crucial component to any electronic device. If it becomes corrupted it will not be able to receive, process, and send information which will leave you with a blank screen. Be careful when removing the heat sink from the motherboard as the thermal paste can be messy.

Remove the five screws using the T6 Torx screwdriver.

Thayne Christiansen had a comment on July 20 that I found relevant enough to move up and include in the instructions themselves (still needs verification). "Step 5 shows removal of screws removed in Step 2, but doesn’t show removal of 2 screws from MB freeing it. Should also show removal of two coax cables connected to the board (1 white, 1 black).

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Where do u get the motherboard
Step 5 shows removal of screws already removed in a different step 2 but doesn’t show the 2 that you have to remove before freeing the MB. Also this doesn’t show removal of the two coax cables connected to the board. one white and one black.
I also have the same question as eddie villarejo. Where does one go about finding a replacement motherboard, and furthermore, how much does it cost? I had a specialty electronics store run diagnostics on my NVIDIA SHIELD PRO ANDROID TV (2015) 500GB HD, that just all of the sudden one day stopped displaying video and stopped transmitting audio. The green light still illuminates, and for the first 10 seconds or so after plugging it in, there is a faint sound coming from the device as if it is trying to boot up…but that’s about all. Right now I have a nicely designed paper weight with a cool green illuminating feature…Wow!
The technician who did the diagnostic on it said that he thought (though not sure) that it would cost as much as the device was worth to purchase a new motherboard and install it. That’s the reason for my questions above: 1) Where to get? 2) Cost of replacement?
Thank you for any advice or direction.
Best Regards.
This same scenario happened to me a few days ago. I went ahead and purchased the newer 2018 model, but am in the middle of playing around with repairing this thing. Finding the parts is one thing, but did your technician mention a specific hardware failure that caused your issue or just thinking a motherboard replacement was sufficient?
