This guide will show how to replace the LCD screen on the camera. This replacement is useful if the LCD screen has been cracked or has stopped working.

  1. kQ1rrlho5KFuJ3Bc
    • Use a Philips #000 screwdriver to remove the three 2mm screws on the bottom of the LCD screen.

  2. sNHuMLqBRDHY3PAZ
    • Tilt the LCD screen all the way up and use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the three 4mm screws from the back of the LCD screen.

  3. iWe1lKQsLYQBwecP
    • Remove Back panel from LCD screen.

    • Use a spudger tool to release ribbon cable from the ZIF connector.

    • The cable is thin and delicate. Detach with care.

there's a small square of glue gum near the middle 4mm screw (from step 2). It holds the black plastic part and the LCD screen together. You can see the square gum on step 4 photo.

You'll have to pull a bit (gently) to detach the screen.

    • The screen is detached and can now be replaced.

Do the replacement screens keep the touchscreen functionality of the camera? Do you know of any good sources to buy the replacement screen from?

Are there any problems with the replacement screen? It’s a touch screen, just making sure the functionality of the screen is still intact.

These directions do not give enough information. The screed is glued into the frame. The replacement parts do not come with the circuit board.

Did you successfully replace the screen? I took off the screws, and got to the detaching the wire stage but then discovered as you said “the glue”. Any further insight would be appreciated!

My G7X lost one of the 2 screws holding the screen: do you know where I can find them?
