    • Use a spudger to pry and slide underneath the battery to unstick it from the LCD metal plate. It may take a good amount of force to remove.

    • Try to decrease battery deformation by using a spudger rather than prying with your hands.

    • Do not let battery fall back on adhesive, it will stick back onto the LCD metal plate.

    • Be careful to not puncture the battery. The battery may ignite or explode.

Good photos. Reassembly with “reverse order” of steps not strictly true (surely not Step 5, e.g.), but most of us know what you mean : )

If the battery is bad and the device is plugged in, should it power up or does the battery need to be in good order to power on? Pressing the power button produces a icon outline of a battery with a triangle and asterisk inside it.

My tablet is doing a strange thing. I powers up then initializes and when it gets to where it says voyager it just stays there indefinately. Occasionally it will complete initalizing then will work for a while then go back to voyager and not work. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

It seems to me that when we got these new they had to charge up for a while before they would “boot” (work) at all. So it stands to reason that if one has a “flaky” battery it might do that. I think that’s what my 7” RCA did when it died. From the 10’ manual, it says,

“Do not wait for the battery to be fully depleted before charging again. Keep the battery charged as needed. If tablet has not been used for a long period of time, the battery might be in over discharge protection mode and may take longer to charge.”

So a flaky battery may put the tablet in the “over discharge protection mode”, meaning it is “cut off” & won’t work.

Gotta ask: where is everyone learning to spell “definitely” as “definately”? Here’s a help to remember: the root word is “finite”, not “finate”.

Good luck with your tablet!
