This guide outlines how to replace the audio and USB-A port module in the Razer Blade Stealth 2017. The audio may be faint or not work. This module is found on the left-hand side of the laptop and often has issues regarding loose ports and external device communication. Some tools are required for this replacement.

Do you have to remove the battery before swapping the wifi card? Is disconnecting the power not enough?

    Hi Charles,

If you’re swapping the Wi-Fi card, you don’t need to remove the battery. Disconnecting it will suffice.

Are two of these screws shorter than the other four? And if so, where do the two shorter screws go?

    James Spinella -

Looks like the two shorter screws go where the trackpad is!

    • Use the plastic spudger to pry out the battery.

After removing the 6 screws securing the battery, mine does not come out easily. There is resistance, and I don't wanna forcefully pull it out. Is it supposed to be easy to pick up and take out or is there some sort of tape holding it down from the bottom?

This guide stops at removing it, what do we replace it with? Is it possible to buy a new usb-c + audio module online?

    David McNulty -

@david0438 I have the same question. My Razer stopped charging but everything else works fine, leaving me to think it is a USB-C port that went bad. I just need to find a suitable replacement, since Razer wanted me to pay $700 to replace the ENTIRE motherboard
