Einleitung

The keypad is something that is used quite often on a phone when texting or emailing. Due to the constant use of the keypad, the keypad can possibly become worn out.

The process of replacing the keypad is a bit challenging and requires patience and attention to detail. The equipment you are working with is very delicate and if not assembled properly, it will break.

    • Remove the battery by pressing the battery lock down and slide the battery cover away.

    • Lift the bottom of the battery and then move it up and away.

    • Locate the 4 screws holes on the phone and remove them with the #000 Philips Head screwdriver. (See red circles)

    • Using the plastic opening tool, gently pry open the back piece of the phone.

    • Make sure to do this very carefully, as the back part of the phone is very thin and fragile.

    • Use the metal prying tool to gently flick up the rectangular connector. (Because this device is on the smaller side, the rectangular connector may only need a simple flick with the prying tool)

    • Simply flick the rectangular connector up from its socket. (Highlighted by the red square)

    • Use the plastic opening tool to gently pry up the motherboard.

    • You may need to pry the motherboard up from several angles in order to remove it.

    • After the connector has been removed you will gently pull off the mother board, which will reveal the rubber keypad.

    • Replace the faulty keypad, and reassemble the phone.
