Remotes can wear out easily, specifically the contacts between the silicon button pad and the circuit board.

To fix this, and extend the life of your device's remote, this guide will show you how to replace the circuit board.

    • Use the plastic opening tool along the seam on the side of the remote until you hear a click. This means that the plastic tabs holding the remote together are coming loose.

    • Do this until the top half of the remote comes loose.

    • Lift the chip out of the plastic casing to replace it.

You can use circuit board cleaner and an ear bud to clean the circuit board tracks by spraying the cleaner on the circuit board (it will evaporate quickly) and rubbing the tracks with the ear bud until they are clean. The underside of rubber buttons should also be cleaned in the same way.

Unless the circuit board is physically damaged, this is highly likely to work. Tip use new batteries and to pay attention to cleaning the power button area and test that to turn the TV on and off. If that works then the circuit board is probably ok. Try testing it before re assembling the case to save the hassle of separating the two halves of the remote.
