Schritt 1

Entferne zunächst die Rückseite. Schade, dass wir nur ein S6 mit defekter Rückseite haben, um dir den Reparaturvorgang der Kameraglaslinse zu demonstrieren.

Schritt 2

Sei bitte vorsichtig, wenn du die Rückseite entfernst. Sie ist etwas empfindlich.

Schritt 3

Heble vorsichtig den Kameralinsenring von der rechten unteren Seite her ab. Darunter befindet sich etwas Kleber. Sei vorsichtig und vermeide es, den Metallring mit einer spitzen Pinzette zu zerkratzen.
Drücke die Kameraglaslinse mit den Fingern oder mit einem Spudger nach oben und entferne sie endgültig.

Schritt 4

Jetzt wird die neue Kameralinse platziert. Ziehe die obere Folie ab und setze das Glas und den Ring zusammen.

Schritt 5

Ziehe die untere Folie ab und bringe die neue Kameralinseneinheit wieder an.
Tipp: Du brauchst eine neue Klebefolie für die Rückseite, weil die alte unter Umständen nicht mehr verwendet werden kann.

Schritt 6

Wenn deine S6 Kameralinse stark beschädigt ist, entferne sie einfach direkt, aber sehr vorsichtig. Achte darauf, die Kamera nicht zu beschädigen oder den Metallring zu verkratzen.

Schritt 7

Platziere zuerst den Sticker auf dem Kameraring.

Schritt 8

Lege dann das neue Kameraglas auf und fertig.
Dies ist die Anleitung, um nur das S6 Kameraglas zu ersetzen.

Abschluss

Arbeite die Schritte in umgekehrter Reihenfolge ab, um dein Gerät wieder zusammenzubauen.

Is it possible to replace just the lens without taking off the back cover? Like can I just use a suction tool to pull off the broken lens and put in the new one?

I am wondering the same thing. I believe it would work. Don't see the need in pulling the back cover to replace a piece of exposed glass.

Yes. It can be done. I did it using a hair dryer to warm the lens and peel if off gently, starting in one corner. If it seems reluctant to come off you may need to heat it a little more. Be careful not to damage to outer metal ring (as I did) and then replace the glass lens as described.

Does anyone know if a similar procedure can be done to replace the camera glass in the S6 Active? Obviously it would be harder to remove the back entirely but steps 6 though 8 look similar so would it be possible on the S6 Active or would it require a different technique to maintain its waterproofing?

I also noticed that on the back of the glass is written a "code". For example, the fake one has "V1". I can't remember what was the code for the original one.

I was wondering if it is supposed to come with the sticker to attach the lens cover to the camera bezel as mine came with a sticker which is only sticky on one side. Maybe i received a dud? I just needed to replace the lens cover. There was no need to remove the back of the case. I heated the lense cover with a hair dryer and remove the cracked lens with tweezers. The replacement kit did not come with an adhesive sticker. I assume it is already on the bezel. Since I wasn’t replacing the bezel, I applied 3M Scotch Clear Glue to the four corners of the black side of the lense and hoped there would be no off-gassing that clouded the lens or the cover. After cleaning my existing bezel with rubbing alcohol, I applied the glue, removed access and attached it to the bezel. I noticed some glue crept in towards the camera lense, but I was able to let it dry at an angle so that the glue would not get on the camera lens. I let it dry over night and tested the camera. The camera lens was unable to focus. I smacked the backside of the phone against the palm of my hand a few times. The camera has worked fine since.

Success, but was different to the guide for a heavily broken lens!

My lens was heavily broken so rather than taking the back off the phone, I removed the broken pieces working round the edge and prying them up with a craft knife then removing them with tweezers (wear safety goggles if you're prying glass shards!). I then removed the glue ring with tweezers after lifting it with the end of the craft knife.

That all worked but at step 7 there's a problem: The repair kit doesn't have a separate adhesive ring, it comes attachet to the bezel.

Personally - I pryed the glue ring off the new bezel then applied it to the orginal bezel, however this was super fiddly as it immediately tried to stick to itself! Once I'd got it on I followed step 8 and it looks fine, I just hope the glue ring sticks it properly despite being pulled off one thing (and itself) beofre being stuck down.

The other option would be to use some other type of glue - but not super glue as that goes misty.

The post could do with a warning note!
