A damaged screen makes viewing anything on the tablet difficult. Removing the screen may require a heat gun or an iOpener. Check out this iOpener guide for instructions on how to use it.

    • Apply the heat gun around the edges of the tablet to melt the adhesive glue.

    • Do not allow the gun to remain still for more than two seconds, so that you do not melt the plastic around the screen.

    • If you do not have access to a heat gun, you may also use an iOpener or a hair dryer. Refer to the iOpener guide for extra help.

    • Apply the suction to the bottom or top right corner.

    • Use the plastic opening tool at several points around the screen while the suction is being applied to pop the screen out.

    • Once the screen is detached, open the tablet like a book.

    • Gently open the tablet, and do not pull the pieces apart since you can risk damaging the orange ribbon cable.

    • Using the precision tweezers, remove the silver tape that is holding the orange ribbon cable connecting the two pieces.

Hí, my Tab S2 has been to a Samsung Service Center for screen replacement, after which they had to open it again, they were not very skilled professionals, and now my screen is not attached to the frame, it is popping out on all sides. Is there a way to glue in the display? Is there a replacement adhesive available?

Hi, my Samsung Tab S2 9.7 has been at a Samsung shop for a new LCD, and they had to reopen it again after the new display has been installed. They were not very skilled professionals. Now my display is not attached to the frame properly and is lifting 1-2mm out of the frame, on all sides, and feels loose. Is there a replacement adhesive to attach the display properly? Or is there some other way to glue in the display? Thanks.
