This guide will give step by step instructions on how to replace the battery and motherboard.

Samsung Gear S Replacement Battery

Schritt 1

Remove the wrist strap by peeling back the rubber starting from one corner of the watch face. Continue peeling the rubber away from the watch face until the strap is completely off.

Schritt 2

Starting from an edge, wedge a metal spudger in between the screen and the chrome trim ring and pry, lifting the screen outwards.
Some force is needed due to adhesive seal.

I found the use of a razor blade was very helpful. Very thin and I was able to lift the edge.

DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE! It instantly shattered my screen, right from the start!

It is double sided tape, around the entire perimeter, and across the middle, upside down U fashion.

You can see the glue remnants in Step 3’s photo. Heat it first, even with a blow dryer, as I did not.

It *may* work with an Exacto blade, but not a regular razor blade, given my broken display.

On top of that, the corner shown in the photo is not the corner you want a blade near, as it cut my wiring to the display!

Use the top left corner, away from the cabling.

The notes don’t tell you that you need to have an adhesive to reconnect the display, until the very end.

But hey, they’ll sell you more parts if you don’t follow my advice.

You must have put the razor blade to far in because I used a single blade/ not the double side blade and it worked great and used the same adhesive by heating it up with a hair dryer.

Schritt 3

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry upwards on the plastic motherboard assembly.

The metal rim has to bend away from the motherboard in order for this to come out. Use a guitar pick.

Schritt 4

Locate the ribbon assembly attaching the display to the motherboard.

Use a plastic opening tool to detach the glass screen/ LED Display ribbon connector from the motherboard.

Now the watch should be in three separate pieces.

Schritt 7

Locate the tabs on the motherboard and unclasp them.

Schritt 8

Use the spugder to gently pry upwards on the motherboard.
If you keep the battery attached to the upper half of the motherboard, you will have to gently pry upwards on both the battery and the motherboard.

Schritt 9

Once the motherboard and the battery are removed, disconnect the battery at the connector.

Schritt 10

Use a spudger to gently pry upward on the clasp connecting the battery to the motherboard.

Abschluss

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Thanks for the info, the adhesive holding the lens is tough. I need a replacement for the green, white and gold circuit board at the bottom of the watch back. see the left image in step 6 near the bottom. It is for charging. One of my gold contacts is burned or broken off. Does anyone know where to get the part or a dead watch I can take it from?

Hi all,

As my battery is showing signs of weakness (drains quickly up to 1 point/minute) I'm thinking about changing battery.

Ordered one here :

Selected it as (it seems same mensurations) but more powerful.

A gambling as I'm not sure it will fit the genuine one. But worth to try due to price.

Battery was delivered without clasp . Can I remove this from the battery in the watch and use it for the new one ?
