    • Using wire cutters or heavy duty scissors, break off old male clip and remove from fabric.

    • Insert scissors in the space between the strap and the buckle's first loop and cut through. Next, insert scissors in second loop between the strap and the buckle's second loop and cut through. (It is easier to cut on the inside edges of the loops than to cut the loops in the center)

Thanks for this guide! I tried pulling the strap through the old clip and it wouldn't go through, so I thought I had to cut and re-sew the ends. I am so glad I saw this, saved me a lot of work! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for this! My pup chewed the clip off of my bag less than two weeks after purchase. I was bummed. Went to the Timbuk2 site and all these reviews said I had to cut and resew the ends…. I KNEW there had to be a better way. Took me less than 5 minutes. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Oof. This didn’t work at all, unfortunately. The strap doesn’t fit through the new buckle. I ended up having to cut and resew the ends.

Seems impossible to get the bulky Timbuk2 logo through the second opening of the buckle when looping. Anyone have any tips or tricks?

I wasn’t able to get the strap through my new clip either, the reflector piece is just too thick for it. I took a Dremel to the new clip and cut a notch out of the center piece of plastic (that the strap goes around) so i could feed the folded strap through. It works as good as new and you can’t see the notch cut out because the strap covers it up.

had to muscle it through the clip with pliers. Was not easy, but got it done.
