This guide demonstrates how to remove a Toshiba Satellite L15W-B1208X sound card. Reasons you might want to replace your sound card is if your speakers or headphones don’t work, or if your USB ports are unable to connect.

    • Turn off your laptop before starting.

    • Flip the laptop over so that the model number stickers face the ceiling.

This is kind of a ta-da shot. It’s not a big deal here, but make sure you avoid these for complicated procedures.

    • Use an opening pick by sliding it in the seam between the bottom casing and the main body of the laptop. Separate the bottom casing from the main body.

    • It is recommended that you start on a corner and work your way along the edge of the cover.

    • Use a plastic opening tool to separate the remainder of the back cover from the laptop.

    • Be careful not to bend or crack the plastic back cover.

How should I use the opening pick? Note that your bullets are doubled here. I would also just integrate the step about working around into the bullets, as it’s part of the process.

    • Disconnect the battery from the motherboard by gently pulling on wiring connecting to the motherboard.

    • Carefully lift the battery out of the laptop.

What are you doing with your finger in the first shot? Do you need to push down on that black tab to release the battery? If so, make the first bullet clearer. If it’s just showing where the piece is, then use markup instead of your finger to avoid confusion.

    • Use Phillips #1 screwdriver (PH1 bit) to remove the 2mm screw that secures the sound board.

What card? Also, can you add a wide shot with markup to show where on the device these screws are?

    • Using the ESD Safe Tweezers Blunt Nose gently pull on the plastic connector that attaches the speaker wiring to the soundboard to disconnect the soundboard from the laptop.

    • Gently pull the wire away from the soundboard using the ESD Safe Tweezers Blunt Nose.

Do you have flipbook style shots to show this process?

    • Gently lift the soundboard out of the laptop.

Use circle and square markup, rather than arrows. Can you add more information to how to unplug the cable? E.g., yank, gently pull out, etc. That way, you wouldn’t need the caution here.
