This device page will explain how to properly replace the joysticks. The joysticks play an important role to the Yuneec ST10 Plus, as it is the main control function of the device.

    • Flip the controller upside down to access the battery compartment.

    • Grab the compartment door and pull down.

How should they remove the battery component door? Make sure to tell how, not just to do something. Also, why is battery capitalized?

    • Gently lift the blue tab connected to the battery in order to remove the battery from its housing.

    • To disconnect the battery from the remote, grab the red and black connectors.

    • Pull gently on connectors until they disconnect.

Make sure to use commas after introductory phrases (e.g., to disconnect the battery from the remote, grab).

The action part of the photo is a little obscured. I would retake this picture to have the action more highlighted. Also, add additional pictures to make the flipbook style iFixit prefers.

    • Slide the Jimmy underneath the rubber grips and pry upwards.

    • With your free hand grasp the rubber grips and pull upward to remove it.

Note that iFixit prefers you not use the metal spudger unless necessary. If it is necessary here, be sure to indicate that you need to use force. If you don’t need force, change the tool. Also, you use a lot of “remove,” which doesn’t have a clear action associated. How can they remove the side grips? Be sure to change the verb or add modifiers.

I also think the shots are from the wrong perspective. For example, in the first picture, if you took it from the side, it would be clearer what you’re doing, instead of foregrounding your hand.

    • Remove the six 1.3 cm screws located on the back panel of the remote using the 5.5mm hex screw bit.

Note that directions should be written as commands. You’ve also misused the information bullet here. Integrate the tool into the step. Also, you need to include measurements for the screws.

    Alex Watkins -

Check all steps for appropriate screw measurements, per iFixit requirements.

    • Remove the four 6mm screws from the handle using the 4mm hex driver bit.

What are you asking the user to do?

    • Carefully pull up and over on the back panel to remove. Take your time because there are wires connecting the two panels that can be easily torn.

I think you’re overusing cautions and other special bullets. If you just write the steps clearly, you won’t have to add extra steps.

    Alex Watkins -

After this step, I’m not marking the point about special bullets and condensing any longer. Be sure to check carefully and apply throughout your guides.

    • Use the nylon tipped tweezers to pull the two joystick cables from their connectors.

    • The cable connectors are located in the middle of the device and are inline with the two joysticks on the motherboard.

How do the pieces come apart?

    • With the 5mm hex diver bit, remove the eight 10mm screws surrounding both joysticks.

Be sure to use the terms iFixit used for tools, and be consistent. Make sure to use special bullets appropriately.

    • Flip the controller back over.

    • Remove the joysticks.

For me, the photo is not helpful here for completing this step. Add some flipbook-style action shots to make the action clear, and make the directions clear as well.
