Einleitung
The iOpener is an insulated, heat-retaining bag that can be heated in a microwave and used to transfer heat to the adhesive along the edge of an iPad or similar device.
Follow these basic instructions to get started with your original style (white, solid-filled) iOpener. For the new, liquid filled iOpener, follow this guide instead.
For detailed instructions specific to your device and repair, see our set of iPad repair guides.
Werkzeuge
-
-
Heat the iOpener for one minute.
-
Throughout the repair procedure, as the iOpener cools, reheat it in the microwave for an additional minute at a time.
-
-
-
Remove the iOpener from the microwave, holding it by the printed tag.
-
If your iOpener has no tag, grab it by a corner, or handle with an oven mitt to avoid burning yourself.
-
-
-
Lay the iOpener flat on the edge of the device, over an adhesive seal you wish to heat. Smooth the iOpener along the surface to ensure good contact with the device.
-
Let the bag sit on the device for approximately 90 seconds before attempting to open the front panel.
-
At this point you should be able to begin prying under the screen with a plastic opening tool. Be sure to see your device's specific guide for where and how to do this.
-
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

It's now a couple of years since I got my iOpener but I never got to use it. I've had to destroy it.
It is essentially a wheat bag (although the seeds in it are not wheat) that has brought some sort of insect into my home, probably from China where it was made.
I was going to report it to Australian Quarantine when I found it has been replaced by the mark 2 that does not involve importing undeclared biological matter.
