Background and Identification
The Honda Stream is a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) produced by Honda, a Japanese automaker, since 2000. The second-generation Honda Stream was introduced in July 2006. The Honda Stream was partially exported in left-hand traffic (LHT) markets in Europe, but it was more successful in Japan and Singapore. The Honda Stream was never sold in North America.
The first-generation Honda Stream was sold as a five-door station wagon with either a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout or a front-engine, four-wheel-drive layout. The Honda Stream was based on the Honda Civic with a slightly longer flat chassis to accommodate the third row of seating. The first-generation Honda Stream was available with a 1.7-liter or 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired to either a four-speed automatic, five-speed automatic, or five-speed manual transmission which was only available in some export markets.
The Honda Stream Absolute was introduced in late 2003 with increased fuel efficiency and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This model's engine was the first ultra-lean gasoline engine offered in Japan to use direct injection technology.
Honda vehicles are identified by the Honda emblem, which portrays an ‘H’ inside a soft-cornered rectangle. Stream vehicles also include the Honda Stream emblem, which includes the name “Stream” in capital letters. The trim level is often included on the rear of the car, located opposite the Stream emblem.
