Identification and Background
The 2005 model year brought about a new face in General Motors' Hummer brand. The H3 was a smaller version of the H2, but still kept the large feel of the H2 and the original H1. Standard engine was a 3.5 liter inline 5-cylinder that managed a combined 15 mpg, and a 5.3 liter V8 was optional, achieving 14 combined mpg. Full-time four-wheel drive, 9.7 inches of ground clearance, and standard recovery hooks make the H3 an off-road-ready machine. The H3, along with all Hummer models, were discontinued after 2010.
