The Acer Aspire 8920 is a series of notebook computers released in 2008 by Acer, Inc. Acer is an electronics corporation based in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The Acer Aspire series covers a wide range of functionalities and sizes, including desktops and laptops for casual household use or high-performance tasks. The Acer Aspire series includes both desktop computers and laptops, and the line was developed to range from essentials to high performance. The 8920 model was released as part of the Gemstone series and was the first 18.4-inch screen notebook produced by Acer. It is considered a desktop replacement computer and was often described as the flagship of Acer Aspire models until other models from the 8900 series surpassed the 8920 model.

Acer Aspire laptops generally include the name “Acer” in lowercase letters in the center of the computer’s bottom bezel. The “Acer” name is also generally included either in the center or the left-hand side of the laptop’s backing.
