Background and Identification

The Acer Extensa 2509 is one of many in Acer’s long line of laptop computers. Acer was founded under the name “Multitech” in Taiwan in 1976 and was renamed Acer Group in 1987. Acer’s products include laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, and televisions. The Acer Extensa series is a line of Acer laptops designed for business and office users. The Extensa series includes several notebooks with different design, functionality, and performance. The Extensa name was used by Texas Instruments which sold its mobile computing division to Acer in 1997. The Extensa line competes with the Dell Vostro and Latitude lines and Lenovo ThinkPad laptops.

The Acer Extensa 2509 is built with an Intel Celeron N2930 processor or an Intel Pentium N3530 processor. It includes an Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) graphics adapter. The 2509 model includes a 15.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. Acer offers various configurations for the 2509 model, including Intel’s Pentium N3530 alongside 4 GB of memory for increased performance. The laptop can support up to 500 GB of storage.

This model has two visible hinges on both the left and right, a built-in disc drive, and the touchpad that is slightly off-center, toward the left. The outer casing has a small Acer logo. The 2509 model includes a matte black plastic casing. Some users have found stability weaknesses on the touchpad’s sides, and the laptop can easily be dented in these places.
