Background Information
Introduced in late 1983, the ImageWriter is a serial-based dot matrix printer made by Apple Computer. The printer's hardware featured similar hardware as the 9-pin dot matrix printer from C. Itoh Electronics (model C. Itoh 8510) with significant changes to the printers ROM and pinout.
While this printer was primarily intended to be used with the Apple II, the printer works across Apple's entire computer product line. The ImageWriter could produce images along with tex, up to a resolution of 144 DPI and of speed of 120 characters per second.
The ImageWriter could also support Microsoft Windows-based PC's by using the included C. Itoh 8510 compatible driver.
