Creative Technology Ltd. is a Singaporean technology company. In the United States, the company is called Creative Labs. Creative Zen refers to the series of portable media players (MP3 players) designed and produced by Creative Technology Ltd. The Zen series of MP3 players are popular in Asian markets, especially in Singapore.
All Creative Zen media players support MP3 and WMA formats, and some models also support WAV and Audible formats. All Creative media players are bundled with device drivers and Creative MediaSource, which is a media player that features syncing and transferring abilities. Some Creative Zen MP3 player models are compatible with Windows Media Player via Media Transfer Protocol. The media players are also compatible with Windows, though only some support the Mac operating system.
The newest Creative Zen MP3 player models were introduced in 2012. The last firmware updates were released in 2013. The Creative Zen line is not officially discontinued, but Creative Technology’s website calls the Zen line “archived.”
Creative MP3 players typically include the name “Creative” printed in capital letters in the center of the device’s top bezel. The MP3 players usually include a digital display and several buttons on the front of the device. Some models include the name “Zen” printed on the device’s front face.
