Background and Identification
The VLT 1000 is a desk fan made by Delonghi, an Italian appliance manufacturer. The fan has four blades with a total diameter of 30 cm (about one foot in the imperial system). The blades have a grille of protective bars around the front and back which can be removed if you need to clean the dust that builds up. The back of the fan has a knob which turns the fan on and lets you choose between one of three increasingly powerful speeds. Just above the knob there is a thumb screw which you can turn to control whether or not the fan oscillates left and right. All parts of the device are made from a shiny stainless steel.
The fan has a wide metal base with rubber feet to help it grip a surface and stay upright. The fan is mounted on a short pole, and you can tilt the fan up or down using another screw on the side of this pole. Several parts of the fan, including the blades, grille, and base can be removed with a basic screwdriver. See the pictures in the VLT 1000 manual for more details.
You can identify this fan by looking for the brand name “Delonghi” on the front grille. Look on the bottom of the base for a sticker with the model number “VLT 1000“ as shown in this YouTube review.
