Background and Identification
The Dyson DC74 is an upright vacuum that retails for about $300.00. Dyson manufactures electric motors they call Dyson Digital Motor that, according to Dyson, is smaller, lighter, and more power efficient in comparison to other motors. Dyson has continued to make improvements to their motor over the years, to increase battery life and reduce noise. Dyson vacuum cleaners have the Dyson Root Cyclone technology that consists of 2 tier radial cyclones that remove dirt and dust without needing a vacuum bag.
The Dyson DC74, also known as the Dyson V6, has a soft roller cleaning head instead of a traditional brush bar with bristles. The roller is red and blue in color and is made of a soft woven nylon with anti-static carbon fiber filaments. Dyson claims that the DC74 can remove large debris and fine dust simultaneously and is intended for hardwood floors, although it can also be used on carpets. It also comes with a Dyson digital motor V6, 2 tier radial cyclones, and has 20 minutes of powerful suction. It comes in purple and is corded electric. The top part of the vacuum can be detached from the shaft and be used as a small hand-held vacuum.
According to reviews on Amazon and Trusted Reviews, the positive notes praise how convenient and light it is, how versatile it is, and how well it picks up pet hair. The negative reviews are mostly about issues with the small bin, and a faulty motor and battery.
