Background and Identification
Fugoo is a company that makes and sells Bluetooth speakers. These speakers connect wirelessly to a phone, computer, or other device over short distances, and then project audio from that device. While the formal name for this kind of technology is ‘short-link radio technology’, the name Bluetooth has become synonymous with wireless connection of this type.
Fugoo speakers come in four categories. The categories are Style, Sport, Tough, and Tough XL. Style speakers are indoor speakers, while Sport speakers are water, dust, and shock resistant, so they can be used outside. Tough speakers are made from aluminum and fiber-reinforced resin, which makes them very durable, and Tough XL speakers are an even more sturdy version of the Tough speakers. All Fugoo speakers are intended to be sturdy and resilient, as shown by the fact that Fugoo also sells an inflatable float where the user can balance a speaker in the pool. These speakers, especially the Tough XL, have been thoroughly tested by users to judge their durability. One product tester named George Fielding made a YouTube video in which he strapped the Tough XL speaker to a Land Rover, drove it through a river, ran over it, threw it on pavement, and then cleaned it off and found that it still worked. These tests were probably more intense than what a regular Fugoo speaker would go through, but it proved that these speakers can live up to their branding as incredibly sturdy machines.
