Background and Identification
The Envy 15 is a line of 15-inch notebook laptops built by HP. The HP Envy 15-k was released as part of the HP Envy 15 line. The HP Envy (stylized as HP ENVY) is a series of high-end laptops and other products produced and sold by Hewlett-Packard. The Envy line was launched in October 2009 with the Envy 12 and Envy 15. In 2012, HP discontinued the Envy 13, 14, 15, and 17 models by rebranding their Pavilion line of computers as the new Envy series. HP also has HP-branded desktops and printers with the Envy label.
Alongside the Envy 15 line, HP produces the Envy 13, Envy 14, and Envy 17. You can distinguish these lines by their screen size, which is measured as the number of inches across the diagonal. To find your exact model, look for the serial and model number on the bottom or side of the laptop (or in the battery compartment if it is removable) as shown in this guide from HP support. To get manuals and specifications for your device, enter one of the numbers you found on the HP support website.
There are seven different models within the HP Envy 15-k series. The HP Envy lineup is represented with a total of 13 different models. The 15-k series includes models 15-k000 15-k099.
The laptop includes the letters “HP” in a lower-case font in the center of the display’s lower bezel.
