Background and Identification
Hewlett-Packard (HP) was an American information technology company that produced an array of electronic devices including printers, scanners, digital cameras, workstation computers, and computers for home. In 2015, HP split into two companies, HP Inc, which focused on personal computers and printers, and Hewlett Packard Inc, which focuses on the remainder of their products. The HP ProBook line was introduced in 2009 and was intended for business and professional use. The HP ProBook 440 G2 is a member of their G-Series that was introduced in 2013.
The G-Series of the HP ProBook all follow a similar naming structure, where the first digit is a class of laptop (4## — entry, 6## — mid-class models), the second digit is a display size (#3# for 13.3", #4# for 14.1", #5# for 15.6" and #7# for 17.3"). The third is an additional mark, like a ##5 for AMD-based models. The body of the laptop is plastic and silver with a black keyboard and black display bezels. The HP Logo is located on the top of the machine, as well as under the display. The ports are located on the sides of the laptop.
