Huawei Mate Xs Teardown
Background and Identification
The Mate XS is the first iteration of Huawei’s foldable device, the Mate X. The Xs ships with a newer processor, the Kirin 990, capable of 5G connectivity. The hinge also received a few tweaks for stability. The only other notable difference between the two models is the Mate Xs ships with Android Open Source, which doesn’t include (and cannot, at this time include) any Google Play apps.
