Background and Identification

The Makita XBU02Z was released by Makita in 2018. It is part of the 18V Lithium-Ion cordless tool product line. Makita USA created this line in 2005 to meet consumer demands for cordless outdoor tools. It is currently the largest cordless tool system in the world.

This tool is implanted with STAR technology to handle demanding jobs and harsh conditions. STAR Protection Computer ControlsTM prevents against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating of the device and batteries by sensing the user’s environment. After fully charging, the batteries last for 25 minutes when the blower is operated at medium speed. Users should recharge batteries fully after each use.

The Makita XBU02Z often costs 219 USD (as of February 2022), not including charger and batteries. This model is quieter than gas-powered blowers, and customers are pleased with the amount of air pressure it emits. It weighs 9 pounds, which is too heavy for some users.

Unlike other Makita blowers, the Makita XBU02Z has a cylindrical nozzle. The entire length of the nozzle measures 3” in diameter. The nozzle’s three rings can be extended for long-range use. The main body of the device is rectangular, and the handle has black trim. The model number is located to the right of the handle and is written in white text. On the back, there are two slots for inserting batteries.
