Background and Identification
Micromax is a consumer electronics company founded in 2000 in India by Rahul Sharma. The company makes cell phones, tablets, laptops, power banks, handsets, TVs, and more.
Among Micromax consumer electronics are cell phones. Micromax makes both smartphones and feature phones. Even though the company is just 20 years old, it has had overwhelming success. In the second quarter of 2014, Micromax surpassed Samsung as the leading phone company in India. As of summer 2020, Micromax is planning to launch three new smartphones in India in the coming months.
Micromax smartphones are thin, rectangular devices. They include touchscreen displays wrapped in an encasing. Micromax smartphones come in a range of colors. On the other hand, Micromax feature phones are thicker devices with physical buttons and small displays.
