Background and identification
The Milwaukee Metal Cutting Saw was developed by Milwaukee Tool and is made in China. Released in 2014, the saw has been used on metal construction job sites to effectively cut metal while limiting sparks and metal debris. The saw comes with a red and black handle, and a grey chip container. The blade itself is covered by a gray lower guard. The cord has a three-prong plug that must be grounded at all times to avoid electric shock. The saw is made only for cutting metal as using it on softer materials such as wood will dull the blade.
The saw weighs 13.3 pounds, has a corded power source, and an 8-inch blade. It comes equipped with a chip container that deals with metal waste, and a powerful 15.0 amp, 3,600 rpm motor. The 6370-21 model includes a carry case and is considered the Metal Cutting Saw Kit. It has also been recorded as the first corded metal cutting saw to have a lower guard retraction lever.
Since the release of the 6370-20, Milwaukee has released a series of wireless Metal Cutting Saws known as the M18 Fuel series or 2982-20. The two models both have a similar appearance and color pattern. The main difference between the models is the wireless battery pack.
