Background and Identification
The Mindray DPM2 is a pulse oximeter made by Mindray. Mindray Medical International Limited is a Chinese medical instrument developer, producer, and seller. Pulse oximeters are non-invasive devices used to monitor a patient’s oxygen saturation. This device is suitable for use with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
The DPM2 model is designed for both spot-checking and continuous monitoring of saturated oxygen and pulse rate. For vital sign checking, the device’s spot-check mode features alarm suppression, auto-standby, automatic assigning of patient IDs, and power-off options. In spot-check mode, the device supports 4,000 sets of data for up to 99 patient IDs. For long-term continuous monitoring, users can automatically enter unique patient IDs, manage alarms, and display a plethysmographic waveform. In the continuous mode, the DPM2 model supports 96 hours of trend data for one patient.
The monitor’s 2.4-inch color LCD screen shows saturated oxygen and pulse rate measurements. It is powered either by three AA alkaline batteries, three AA rechargeable batteries, or one rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Users can adjust the intensity of the display’s brightness to conserve battery power. This model features adjustable three-level visual and audible alarms. A selectable automatic shutdown mode and automatic standby mode can preserve power during use.
