Background and Identification

Newport Breeze E150 is manufacturing by Newport Medical Instruments, Inc. (NMI). It is a ventilator that is used to control breathing flow for a baby when they are born prematurely, until they can breathe on their own. The device can also control blood supply pressure and blood volume for adults.

The Newport Breeze E150 has a DuoFlow* system installed, which makes it easier for nurses and doctors to customize the pressure wave pattern output by the ventilator to meet a time constant restraint, and then adjust the spontaneous flow rate for maximum patient comfort and minimum work of breathing. The Newport Breeze E150 also features a built-in battery back-up, allowing the device to continue functioning while the patient is being moved, or if the power were to go out momentarily.

The Newport Breeze is shaped like a trapezoidal prism with grey and light blue coloring. On the front side of the device are multiple dials and displays on white panels with a blue border. Among the displayed metrics are a volume gauge and a flowmeter.

*(DuoFlow is a system that allows you to separate the spontaneous flow system from the mechanical flow system)
