Background and Identification

The Penlon AV-S is an electronic medical ventilator used for optimum anesthesia therapy in adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient profiles. Designed and operated by Penlon, this device comes with an 8.4” Colour Touch Screen with single/dual waveform-display and three Ventilation Modes.

The Penlon AV-S ventilator, along with the Prima SP2 anesthesia system, was launched by Penlon in the early 2000s in Oxford, United Kingdom. In 2010, soon after multiple successful launches, Penlon won its fourth Queen’s Award, this time it was in the International Trade category.

The Penlon AV-S ventilator weights 16.75 lbs (control unit only) and has a colored display screen of 210 mm (8.4") TFT. Screen mounting is remote, arm-mounted, or an optional combined control unit/screen.

The drive gas supply for the ventilator can be oxygen or air. Note that the drive gas is specified by the customer and set during manufacture.

The ventilator has three ventilation modes: Volume, Pressure, and Spontaneous. Spontaneous mode (SIMV, SMMV, PSV, PEEP) is for advanced patient support.

The Penlon AV-S ventilator is compatible with PrimaSP,  SP2, and SP3, A100SP, A200SP anesthesia systems.
