Background and Identification

Introduced in 2014, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series refers to the primary models, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. These tablets are meant to be the main model line of Samsung Galaxy tablets along with other Samsung Galaxy S series devices, specifically the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 refers to the second generation of the very high-end tablet models, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and the Samsung Galaxy S2 9.7. Released in 2015, these models were a flagship model line of Samsung Galaxy tablets along with the Samsung Galaxy S series, specifically the Samsung Galaxy S6.

The third generation, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, was released in 2017 with a new and improved S-Pen (stylus).
