Background and Identification
The UN55F6300 is a 55-inch smart TV produced by Samsung in 2013. The television features a 1920x1080 pixel screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has four HDMI inputs along with component and composite video for older analog sources. The set has Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port, so you can connect it to the internet and use the various streaming services that are built in to the set.
According to the Energy Guide label, the TV should cost about $12 per year for electricity. You can attach the TV to a wall using a 400x400 mm VESA mount, but make sure your wall and bracket can support its 37.5 pound (17 kg) heft.
You can identify this device by looking for the model number and serial number on the right side of the case or on the back of the TV. You can find more information on how to find these numbers in this Samsung support article.
One common issue with this TV is that it may begin to cycle on and off repeatedly. Many buyers on Amazon have reported this problem. Some people on this AVS Forum thread and this iFixit post—TV repeatedly turning off/on (power cycling)—tracked the problem down to the ribbon cable that connects the power board and the main board behind the back cover of the set. Other users, however, were able to fix the issue by replacing bulging capacitors or unplugging the cable for the Wi-Fi board.
