Background and Identification
Produced by SanDisk, the SanDisk Sansa is a line of flash memory-based portable media players that range in storage from 2GB to 32GB. Introduced in May 2005, the Sansa line marked SanDisk’s entrance into the portable media players market. The first few series within the Sansa line included the e100 series, m200 series, and the c100 series.
Released in 2006, the e100 series included a monochromatic player with a blue backlight, FM tuner with 20 presets, and an SRS WOW technology. It also included an SD card slot for expanding the media players storage and came with 512 MB of internal memory. MP3 players within the e100 series came in blue or gray and supported MP2, WMA, and Audible file formats.
Then the m200 series came with four models: M230 (512 MB), m240 (1GB), m250 (2 GB), and m260 (4GB). These players have a built-in FM tuner and microphone and support MP3, WMA, WAV, and Audible audio file formats. The colors available in this series include blue, black, pink, and gray.
The c100 series players came with color displays allowing the devices to show cover art and small picture thumbnails. They used AAA batteries and are available in 1GB (c140() or 2GB (c150) of capacity. The c100 players also have built-in microphones for recording and settings.
