Background and Identification

The Sennheiser Momentum is a set of in-ear headphones that includes a three-button multifunction remote with an integrated microphone. The headphones include black and red cables with colored, high-gloss housing. According to a review of the Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear Headphones from TechRadar, the headphones have stellar sound, flat cables, and impressive features, but the mid-tones are somewhat lacking and the headphones are not compatible with every smartphone. The headphones are made of stainless steel and include a stylized letter ‘S’ on the flat end of the ear piece.

Headphones are generally made of small loudspeakers worn on or around a user’s ears. These small loudspeakers are electroacoustic transducers and convert electrical pulses and signals into sounds. Headphones can come in many different varieties, such as in-ear, on-ear, over-ear, etc.

In-ear headphones, also known in a multitude of names such as in-ear monitors (IEMs), earphones, earbuds, or canal phones, are small headphones inserted into the ear canal itself. In-ear headphones are preferred by users for their convenience and portability. Since in-ear headphones are designed to fit inside the ear canal, they naturally block out ambient noise. Unlike over-ear headphones, the main concern of using in-ear headphones is that increasing the volume to extremely high levels has the potential to cause hearing loss.
