Background and Identification
Siare Engineering International Group is an Italian manufacturer of anaesthesia, resuscitation, intensive care, and emergency equipment. Siare’s ventilation line includes intensive therapy and hyperbaric chamber ventilation. Siare was founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Perziosa, an expert in the fields of intensive care, anesthesia, and resuscitation.
A ventilator is a machine that provides mechanical ventilation by moving breathable air into and out of a person’s lungs to deliver breaths to a patient who is breathing insufficiently or physically unable to breathe. Modern ventilators are computerized microprocessor-controlled machines that are primarily used in intensive care medicine, home care, emergency medicine, and anesthesiology. Ventilators are sometimes called “respirators,” though medical terminology uses the word “respirator” to refer to a protective face-mask.
Many Siare medical ventilators are square or rectangular machines with a digital display that indicates a variety of the patient’s vital signs, along with the machine’s status. Some Siare ventilators are portable and include wheels for transportation. Other ventilators do not include digital displays and only feature an array of nobs and dials for controlling the machine.
Siare medical ventilators typically include the model name and number somewhere on the machine’s front face. The name “Siare” is also sometimes printed in cursive font on the front of their ventilators.
