Background and Identification
The Siemens Servo 300 series of devices are a range of ventilators meant for adult, pediatric, and neonatal care. The devices offer increased patient comfort and treatment possibility through a mix or a Automode function as well as a range of ventilation modes.
The devices feature two main units connected via an interconnection cable, a control and patient unit. The control unit consists of several blocks meant to give the medical professional control over their patients care. Some controls on this unit include a patient range selection for tailoring the treatment for each specific use case, the respiratory pattern monitor, as well as Ventilation mode and Automode selection. The patient unit consists of the power unit as well as the inspiratory valve unit.
The control unit looks like several arrays of LED’s meant to show patient information, as well as several switches and knobs meant to control the device. The patient user uses transducers to measure flow and pressure.
It’s important to make sure your Siemens Servo 300 series device has the most up to date firmware and to know where to get spare parts to avoid common issues such as an exp valve failure.
