A slow cooker is a countertop electrical appliance used to cook at low temperatures. This can be used for unattended cooking of dishes that would otherwise be boiled. For example pot roasts, soups, stews, beverages, desserts and dips.
In the English-speaking world, this appliance is also called a crock-pot, after the trademark owned by Sunbeam Products.
