Background and Identification

Fritz Stephan GmbH is a German company lead by Rainer Hafermann and Bernd Hohne which was first established in 1974. This was also when they developed their first ventilation system for Neonatology in Hamburg. Fritz Stephan specializes in ventilation devices, especially for premature and newborn infants, this is how they made a name for themselves worldwide. In addition to respiratory technology, Fritz Stephan also develops anesthesia equipment and oxygen supply systems to be used by medical professionals in the military and disaster control sectors.

The Stephan Staxel 1.5 and 3.5 units are used to produce oxygen and compressed air as well as for the production of vacuum. It is primarily designed for the use of appliances for pediatrics and anesthesia.  This device continuously produces oxygen from the atmosphere instead of the use of oxygen cylinders and liquid oxygen to provide an economical alternative. Ventilators are needed for patients who can no longer receive oxygen to their body or receive minimal oxygen, making it an essential device to have in hospitals. This device is currently priced at around 23,000$ cad and is produced worldwide

The Stephan Staxel unit is structured in a three dimensional rectangular shape and comes in one colour, white. The dimensions of the device itself are 820 cm x 440 cm. Both the 1.5 and the 3.5 are virtually identical, but one slight difference you may be able to point out at first glance are the slight hints of teal on the 3.5 compared to the 1.5. The Stephan Staxel can be mounted on a service carriage increasing its flexibility and mobility. It is also made from stainless steel making it extremely resistant against weathering as well as it being easy to keep it in a good hygienic condition. This device is also available with many different shelves, brackets for other appliances and appliance rails to attach other medical instrument, as well as four grounded sockets to connect to other appliances located on the rear panel.
