Background and Identification
The Steris (sometimes STERIS) 4085 General Surgical Table is a mobile, electrohydraulically operated surgical table that can support nearly all general surgical procedures including cardiac and vascular, endoscopic, gynecology, urology, nephrectomy, neurology, ophthalmologic, and orthopedics with the use of additional Steris table accessories. The 4085 model is designed specifically to provide patient positioning flexibility for surgical procedures.
The Steris 4085 surgical table features adjustable height functions, powered lateral tilt, Trendelenburg/reverse Trendelenburg, and Zip-Slide movable tabletop. The table is designed to function either with an 1100 lb (499 kg) load without patient positioning, a 1000 lb (454 kg) load with all patient positioning except tabletop slide, or a 600 lb (272 kg) load with all patient positioning and full tabletop slide.
The Steris 4085 surgical table is mainly constructed of aluminum alloy and stainless steel. The table includes a large sliding tabletop that provides unrestricted radiological access without patient reversing or repositioning. The surgical table is powered by an internal battery or facility electricity through Steris’ INTELLIPOWER dual power system. The 4085 model accepts positioning commands from a primary hand control, a physician-controlled foot control, or a backup hand control that can override primary hand control (located in the table’s base).
Steris advertises that the 4085 model can be used for up to three weeks (100-150 procedures) on internal battery power without recharging the table.
