Background and Identification

The Surface Laptop Studio was announced on September 22, 2021 alongside the Surface Pro 8, Surface Pro 7+, Surface Go 3, and the reveal of Microsoft’s new Windows 11 operating system. The Surface Laptop Studio hit stores on October 5 and was one of the first devices to feature Windows 11 pre-installed.

The Surface Laptop Studio is the first of yet another new lineup of Microsoft devices, and showcases an entirely new form factor with a magnesium and aluminum exterior. Its defining feature is a novel dual-pivoting display that can fold the device into a tablet as well as a canvas mode.

Microsoft designed the Studio lineup with creative professionals in mind, including strong processors and a digital stylus to fully utilize creative programs.
