Vodafone is a British multinational telecommunications company based in London, England. Vodafone primarily operates in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania. As of 2020, Vodafone owned and operated networks in 24 countries and has partner networks in 41 additional countries. In 2018, Vodafone ranked fourth in the total number of mobile customers among global mobile operator groups. The Vodafone Global Enterprise division provides information technology (IT) and telecommunications services to corporate clients in 150 countries.
In 2010, Vodafone launched the world’s least expensive mobile phone, the Vodafone 150, designed to sell for below $15 (£10) in developing countries. The Vodafone 150 initially launched in India, Turkey, and eight African countries. Vodafone uses M-Pesa as its African payments platform.
Vodafone supports a range of mobile services that allow consumers to call, text, and access data. The company also owns the largest fixed broadband network in Europe, serving over 118 million households. Vodafone advertises that they are the largest 5G network in Europe and planned to launch 5G in nine European markets by April 2020. Vodafone TV enables customers to access channels and content from multiple providers.
Vodafone also offers mobile, fixed, and other communication services for business customers. Vodafone supports public and private cloud services and international voice, IP transit, and messaging services for companies.
Vodafone mobile phones generally include the Vodafone logo, which includes a rounded quotation mark with its tail pointing to the northeast inside of a circle.
