Background and Identification
The UE Wonderboom is a portable speaker that features an IPX7 waterproof case that floats on water. Ultimate Ears is an American custom speaker, earphone, and in-ear monitor (IEM) manufacturer. Ultimate Ears was acquired by Logitech in August 2008 and now operates as a subsidiary.
The UE Wonderboom features Bluetooth compatibility and projects sound 360 degrees from the speaker. The UE Wonderboom is advertised as being completely waterproof, so it can be used for showers, pools, beaches, muddy fields, and rainy days. The speaker can simply be rinsed off when it gets dirty. UE advertises that the Wonderboom speaker can play music for up to 10 hours on one charge. The speaker takes about 2.8 hours to charge fully. The UE button on the top of the speaker allows the user to easily play, pause, and skip songs. The speakers can be paired together using the “Double Up” feature. The UE Wonderboom can connect wirelessly to phones or other Bluetooth-capable devices from up to 100 feet away.
The UE Wonderboom is drop-proof from up to five feet and also includes a hanging loop so users can attach it to bags, bicycles, or backpacks. The speaker’s volume can be controlled by the large ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons on the front of the speaker.
