Background and Identification

The Xiaomi Mi A1 (also known as the Xiaomi Mi 5X) was released in August of 2017 and co-created by Google and Xiaomi. Previous smartphones released by Xiaomi ran on Xiaomi's MIUI rather than the stock Android operating system. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is available in all current markets other than China.

At the time of shipment, the Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat and is able to be updated to Android 9.0 Pie. In addition, Xiaomi has stated that the Mi A1 will receive updates to the operating system for a minimum of two years.
